Directories of radio-electronic circuits. Electronic Components Directories

Greetings, dear friends, my name is Vladimir Vasiliev and today I have prepared something interesting for you. Every radio amateur in his practice constantly resorts to the help of various reference books: these are directories of transistors, diodes, resistors and other details. Of course, nowadays the Internet helps us with this and therefore collecting a large library of reference books has become less relevant.

But still, there are times when the Internet may not be at hand and the book reference book does not have a very friendly interface, it is simply not convenient to use. It is especially inconvenient to flip through e-books on a computer.

In such rare cases, the electronic radio amateur directory can help us. And you will learn about what this program is a reference book by reading this article to the end.

However, do not forget to subscribe to new updates, since the information on my blog is constantly updated and in the future, without this simple trick, it will be difficult to follow my stream of consciousness :)

So, for your convenience, I have prepared the content for you, so enjoy it to your health!

Pom Well, when I was still studying, I think it was my second year, my classmates and I often shared with each other different software, desktop wallpapers and everything that might be of interest to an ordinary student. We transferred all this stuff to each other on floppy disks, cut them into discs (USB flash drives were not so common then and their volume was not large). But the coolest thing was when a friend came to visit with his hard drive - that was freedom.

That’s how I remember now, one of my classmates, Vital, came with his screw and gave me all sorts of things - various software, including amateur radio. So, Vitalya, if you are reading this article, then hello to you and thank you for the software!

So, among this amateur radio software there was also a radio amateur’s guide about which I want to tell you, dear readers, in detail.

What is the Radio Amateur's Handbook?

The Handbook for Radio Amateurs is, first of all, a convenient program that contains reference data on a large number of semiconductor radio elements. Among all the variety, you can find information on such radio components as:

  • transistors (bipolar, field-effect)
  • diodes
  • optoelectronic devices (optocouplers, IR emitting diodes, various indicators)
  • thyristors (pulse, lockable, optocoupler, etc.)
  • analog microcircuits (op-amps, comparators, etc.)
  • digital chips

In other words, a radio amateur's handbook is an electronic handbook that includes: a handbook on transistors, a handbook on diodes, thyristors, microcircuits and many other radio components.

Where to download and how to install?

And although this directory was on my computer for a long time, I nevertheless found it on one of the torrent trackers. And now you can download this directory of radio components using the torrent link, prepared especially for you. I hope most of my readers know how to use the mtorrent program, so there shouldn’t be any problems.

When you download, you will have two files in your hands.

These are disk image files, and you can’t just open them. First you need to install this image on a virtual drive. In other words, you need to use virtual programs such as: DAEMON Tools, Alcohol, Nero or UltraISO. These programs themselves create a virtual drive and create the illusion that you have another CD-ROM.

For me, Total Commander (a special hacker assembly) copes with this task; one of these programs is built right into it. As a result, a virtual drive with the letter H was created on my computer (Oh my God. Some miracles, where did I get it from? :) and we can observe the contents.

What is it like?

Let's now figure out what kind of program this is and what it is. Therefore, we click on the main exe file, on the menu.exe file and see what’s inside.

We immediately see a window divided into several items, these items represent sections of the directory

Sections of the program - directory of radio components

By clicking on the section Semiconductors No. 1, this window will open.

And with the naked eye it becomes clear what is here and why. Several tabs appear before us: bipolar transistors, field-effect transistors, diodes, optoelectronics and thyristors.

The bipolar transistors tab gives freedom of choice according to the parameters that interest us. We have at our disposal such characteristics as power, type of conductivity, frequency. Well, you can choose which transistor we are looking for: a regular one, a composite one, or something else.

Now we press the “output” button and observe all the variety that fell on you overnight.

“What is this and how to figure it out?” - some Vasya, Petya, Kolya will immediately ask straight away. Indeed, the sample turns out to be very large. I cropped the screenshot a little for the article, but the picture turned out impressive. The table showed us all the transistors contained in the database that meet the criteria we selected.

This does not suit us, because we need one specific transistor for our very specific purposes. So don’t be sad, because the entire result of this table can be easily adjusted and filtered using “search”. This search is located above the table, where the list of tabs is located, so we immediately make an unrestrained click.

And here we can continue the search for the desired transistor. We have at our disposal a search by the name of the transistor and its foreign analogues. We can also sort the table by technical characteristics. So, having selected the desired element, for example 2T117A, we move to the “table” tab. As a result, the table will be filled with only transistors with the name 2T117A. Among them will be the desired 2T117A and 2T117B and 2T117V, etc.

Now we do a trick with our ears and click on the “dimensions” tab and O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o.

We have information about the dimensions of the transistor, in my opinion, now we have comprehensive information about the 2T117A transistor, we have its dimensions and its technical characteristics. That's it, all that remains is to purchase the transistor itself and solder it where needed.

But that is not all.

There are cases when jewelry sorting is required according to a certain range of parameters. And for this case, the program has such a function as selection by parameters.

With a precise click on the tab, we return to the search window and there, under the selection window by element name, there is an inconspicuous “selection by parameters” button.

This button hides the window for selecting transistors by parameters. Here you can search by group of parameters of interest. You can also very clearly adjust the search range according to specific parameters. Not bad right?

We looked at the principle of working with a directory of radio components using transistors as an example. You can also easily figure out how to work with other types of semiconductors using the scientific poke method.

Semiconductors No. 2

To be honest, I don’t quite understand how this section of semiconductors differs from the one we discussed earlier. Because by clicking on the “semiconductors No. 2” item, a window will open almost the same as what we saw earlier, where we could see tabs for selecting transistors, diodes or thyristors.

Of course, there may be a slightly different component base, I don’t know, I haven’t looked into it. One thing I know for sure is that the search there is carried out a little differently. When you click the “search” tab, a window will open.

In my opinion, these are all the differences, so choose for yourself which section of semiconductors to use; I settled on the first option.

Analog chips

Let's leave semiconductors behind and begin our analysis of the analog microcircuits section. And a familiar window will open in front of us, only the information here is given for microcircuits. The title of the window says “Analog microcircuits for audio equipment”; this is natural, because analog microcircuits, for example operational amplifiers, are used in audio equipment.

Okay, this is all lyrics and we need to figure out how to look for analog microcircuits in this electronic reference book.

In short, we choose what we opened this window for. Let our choice fall on general-purpose operational amplifiers, so put a checkmark in the right place and press the “Select” key.

And as in the case of transistors, the table gave us countless numbers of microcircuits. But here this result can also be corrected.

By clicking on the search tab here you can also enter the information we are interested in. Everything here is exactly the same as in the case of transistors, so we won’t dwell on this.

Separately, I would like to tell you about the “dimensions” and “connection diagram” tabs. A special connection circuit has been added for analog microcircuits for greater information content.

Let's say our choice fell on the K153UD501 operational amplifier chip, and then we can estimate its dimensions and see how to include it in the circuit, which wiring diagram corresponds to it.

Microcircuits for television and video equipment

Now let's pay attention to the microcircuits used for television and video equipment.

These microcircuits also have their own selection window, and there is plenty to choose from. The window is divided into microcircuits for television equipment and into microcircuits used in VCRs.

For example, chips for television equipment are divided according to the systems to which they belong or where they should be located in the equipment:

  • in the chrominance channel
  • video amplifiers
  • in switching circuits
  • in remote control units
  • in satellite television systems
  • in teletext systems
  • on the radio channel
  • in scanning units and synchronization circuits
  • in power systems
  • digital chips
  • for tuners

Something like this, select what you need and press the familiar “Output” button. I selected the “in the color channel” option and received a familiar table, only already filled with microcircuits for television equipment.

The table is familiar to us, but tabs appeared here that seemed interesting to me. Among them there is the familiar “Dimensions” tab, in addition to it there are also the “Structural diagram” and “Additional” tabs. information".

And here, for example, is what information is available for the selected µPC1366C video modulator chip:

We can look at its structural diagram and not have to guess how it works inside. Next, we can estimate its dimensions and see additional information about the microcircuit.

Hmm, it turns out interesting, they wanted to get the dimensions but for some reason there were no overall dimensions. Probably because it’s a bourgeois chip, but it’s still somehow not thought out.

For VCR chips, everything is similar, but it’s interesting that VCRs are used now? However, microcircuits can always be found somewhere to be used.

Digital microcircuits No. 1

Now we are talking about digital microcircuits, of which we have two sections as semiconductors, but now we will focus on only one. So let's see what the window is.

The window opens and you can immediately see how the selection is made. You can select either by series - this tab is enabled by default, or by functional purpose. The window will tell us about this if we select the appropriate tab.

And no matter which selection method you choose, the result will be the same as what we saw earlier - a table will open. But we can always adjust the search using the search tab. We will take all the technical information about the parameters that is important for us in the table, and to see the diagram or dimensions, we will click on the desired tab - it’s simple.

And for example, for the KS531LI1 microcircuit the characteristics will be as follows:

Dimensions and diagram:

Digital microcircuits No. 2

I looked at this section, poked at different tabs - everything is arranged exactly the same. Of course, the choice of digital microcircuits in section No. 1 from section No. 2 may differ, so we proceed as follows. If in one section you did not find any microcircuit, then do not despair and humbly stomp into the second section. After all, when there is a choice, there is always buzz.

To be honest, I also wanted to talk about how to use this electronic reference book in practice, but now it will be extra information. Everything I wanted was explained in examples.

Advantages and disadvantages

From my experience of using this program, I will say that it has a lot of advantages.

does not require installation- you can use it immediately after opening it on a virtual drive and do not have to worry about various settings;

mobile— since it does not require installation, you can copy it to a flash drive and take it with you anywhere, even to classes, or to work. It weighs about 600 MB, but what kind of memory is this for modern flash drives?;

Ease of use— I think you appreciated this point when we examined the interface of the directory program;

and I think each of you will find something of your own in it.

Sadly, this program also has disadvantages:

no manufacturer support— no matter how hard I tried to find the website of the manufacturers of this program, all my attempts were in vain, apparently this product is no longer being developed;

there are mistakes— this minus will remain in my memory for a long time. When writing my thesis project, I constantly used this program, but when assembling the device layout, something didn’t work out very well.

It turned out that the pinout of the operational amplifier I used in this reference book did not correspond to reality. I had to tinker a lot before I managed to find the truth. On the other hand, errors can be found in any other reference book, so I believe that only the official documentation for the radio component can have the most accurate information. In any case, friends, be careful!

Well, it seems like I’ve told you everything I wanted to tell you about the electronic amateur radio manual. So guys and girls, if you have any questions, be sure to ask them in the comments.

Well, be friends, and that’s all I have for today. So right now click on the subscribe link, then you will always be aware of new articles.

And that’s really all I have, it’s already dark outside, and I already want to sleep.

I wish you, friends, success in your business and a wonderful sunny mood!

The Radio Components Handbook is a convenient assistant program for radio designers and anyone who knows how to hold a soldering iron. As the name suggests, the radio components reference book is a database of radio elements with detailed descriptions of their parameters. The program includes the following radio elements:

  • bipolar transistors;
  • field effect transistors;
  • diodes;
  • light-emitting and infrared diodes;
  • Zener diodes;
  • varicaps;
  • thyristors.

The radio components directory features a convenient database search with the ability to select parts based on 30 parameters. You can specify both exact values and a range from and to, or a spread of parameters as a percentage (for example, from 1% to 10%).

The radio components database is a table with devices (radio components) and the parameters of these devices. It is possible to edit this database, add new elements and change existing ones. In the "Dimensions" tab, many parts are provided with a schematic diagram indicating the dimensions of the case, legs and other information, such as the location of the base, collector, emitter for transistors or anode and cathode for diodes, and so on.

The program interface is quite simple and consists of a menu, a toolbar and four tabs “Table 1”, “Table 2”, “Dimensions” and “Search”. Table 1 displays all parameters, such as the maximum permissible constant (pulse) collector current (IK max, mA), constant collector-emitter voltage at a certain resistance in the base-emitter circuit (UCER, mA), the maximum value of the average diode-rectified current ( IVYPR.SR.MAX), voltage drop across the diode when it is directly turned on (UPR) and other parameters, of which there are more than 30. In Table 2, you can configure the display of only the necessary parameters. Dimensions displays schematic images of parts, and Search displays search and selection of parts by parameters.

The program contains detailed help both on working with the program and on theoretical information.
